Tag--I'm "It"!

My blogging buddy Elisabeth tagged me in a post on her blog challenging me to post six random things about myself and then tag six other people. My friend Mariama challenged me to post TEN random things about myself a while ago. Guess I need to come up with six new quirks...

1. I can't whistle, do a cartwheel or serve a volleyball and get it over the net. And I really regret not being able to. Except for serving a volleyball over a net. That's a completely useless skill.

2. One reason I have no interest in volleyball is because I believe I'm magnetized. Flying objects invariably hit me in the face. Therefore I avoid playing: tennis, baseball, basketball, cricket, rugby, soccer, football, ping pong and hockey. Also, I'm a complete klutz.

3. I cut my own hair. This is nothing to brag about.

4. My parents both have August birthdays, my brothers were both born on the 9th day of the month and my sister and I were born on the exact same day--two years apart.

5. My favorite poem is by Gelett Burgess, written in 1895:

"I never saw a purple cow;
I never hope to see one;
But I can tell you, anyhow;
I'd rather see than be one!"

6. I once tried to eliminate my cravings for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches by eating about a dozen of them in one sitting. It didn't work.

I will tag Mariama, Rae, Iain, Jodi, Tami and Susan.
